· Proverbs 16:3…COMMIT TO THE LORD WHATEVER YOU DO, AND YOUR PLANS WILL

SUCCEED.

· ROMANS 13:12…THE NIGHT IS NEARLY OVER; THE DAY IS ALMOST HERE. SO LET US

PUT ASIDE THE DEEDS OF DARKNESS AND PUT ON THE ARMOR OF LIGHT.

· ROMANS 13:13 LET US BEHAVE DECENTLY, AS IN THE DAYTIME…

· ROMANS 13:14 RATHER CLOTHE YOURSELF WITH THE LORD JESUS CHRIST, AND DO NOT

THINK ABOUT HOW TO GRATIFY THE DESIRES OF THE SINFUL NATURE.

1. BAPTISM… Moved this past Sunday…two baptisms

2. RADIATE HIS LOVE!! CALEB…WHOLEHEARTEDLY…DIFFERENT SPIRIT

3. ACTIONS…ALL FOR THE GLORY OF GOD

· Why suit up for Christ?

1. when I was young…and I fell down…who did you run to? Mom…she completed my incompleteness;

2. after high school, I went to college because I knew my knowledge was incomplete;

3. as a man, I married because of my incompleteness as I found my better half;

4. as a Christian, I find my life incomplete…it’s goodness is inadequate…it’s love too small; faith too weak…it

is only by striving to suit up for Christ everyday…that life has meaning.

…AND THAT TAKES COMMITMENT…7 blessings/truths of commitment

1. commitment shapes vision…Nehemiah 2:12

· I arose with few men…

· Did not really tell them what I was doing…but without questions…were so committed…they followed

· They could see the vision…

· Habakkuk…2:3

· Though it tarry…wait for it

· End in mind….7 habits

· If commitment….your vision will become reality

2. commitment generates resources…Nehemiah 2:18

· commitment and enthusiasm=resources

· must be excited…through your commitment others will follow

· we cannot accomplish great things by ourselves

· 2 Corinthians 9:6…Paul says if you sow sparingly=reap sparingly

3. commitment gives you value…Mark 12:30-31

· love God…love your neighbor…greatest two commandment

· God’s law not burdens=2 things

· Gain true value when you are committed to these two laws

4. commitment produces discipline…Nehemiah 4:6

· allows you to finish the job

· have you ever been on a team that was committed

· commitment/discipline=hand in hand

· 52 two days to finish the wall!!!…did not give up…persevered

5. commitment ignites your faith and courage…Nehemiah…4:14

· accomplishing anything large…seems sometimes impossible

· always those that do not want you to succeed

· stand firm

· people who did not want the wall to be rebuilt…because the enemy can’t get in!!

· pressures that discourage us…causes us to get off our focus…original task is forgotten

· remember God’s purpose for our lives

6. commitment fuels motivation…Nehemiah 4:15

· we all need motivation in our lives…something to look forward to…

· causes excitement…among a group causes motivation…stay the course

· if you are someone that is truly committed to a goal…it becomes contagious

7. commitment provides vital relationships…Ecclesiastes 4:9,12

· advantages to cooperating with other people

· life is designed for companionship vs. isolation

· not placed on this earth to serve ourselves…but to serve God…serve others
