I was born and raised on the East coast of the U.S. I received both a bachelors and masters degree in Geology and currently work as a geologist in the oil and gas industry. While in graduate school in Texas, I met and married (20 years) my wife Wendy; we have two boys, aged 15 and 11. Throughout my career I have worked and/or lived on 4 different continent and observed that despite all the variations culture, the presence of family is a consistent indicator of stability and happiness. I have a passion for everything sports and the beach. I enjoy coaching both my boys' baseball teams and we escape to sandy places whenever time allows. I am a devoted follower of Jesus Christ and an active member in my local church. I currently serve on our church council, teach Sunday School to 4th-6th graders and serve as a leader in our Men's Ministry. I also have a passion for disaster response and recovery. I servce on the board of a local non-profit dedicated to helping those affected by disaster across the Southern U.S. In all of this, my hope is my boys understand what we giveto others will be returned to us many times over, in ways we cannot even yet imagine. I have been married to a wonderful woman for 13 years and I am a father to three kids, ages 4, 6, and 9. I enjoy fishing, running, and most sports (playing and watching). I am an active member of my church and have a passion for mission work, both local and abroad. I am dedicated to becoming a better Christian, husband, and father… and golfer! I fail often, but intentionally surround myself with others who can pick me up. I have an engineering degree from the University of Florida (Go Gators!) and an MBA from Rice. I have spent my entire career in the chemicals industry, starting out in R&D, but spending the last 10 years in various commercial roles. I was born and raised in Jacksonville, FL, spent 4 years in South Carolina, and have lived in the Houston area since 2007. Huddle Location: Pearland |

I grew up in Magnolia/Tomball area without a father in my home, and my life fit all of the statistics you can read about. My life could have been defined as nothing less than miserable, but when I was seventeen, God really got a grasp on my life and nothing has been the same since. I found a father in Him, and my life really began to turn around. In 2008 I married my wife, and a few years later our beautiful daughter came into the picture. It would be years later when, as a father, I would finally began to understand what a father was, and finally surrendered all the wounds from my childhood over to God at the cross.
I really feel like if we could get dads committed to being everything God created them to be, would could begin to effect change in our communities. With a fairly small rag-tag group of uneducated men, Jesus changed the world. What could we do if we could get a dozen men to really sell-out for what it means to be a disciple of Christ, and a Biblical example of a husband and father?
Geographic Area:
Magnolia, Texas
Why I chose to be a Champion:
We know what the world looks like when fathers are absent, but I want to show the world the amazing change when fathers are present.

Jackie Battle
Jackie Battle is a graduate of the University of Houston and an 8 year NFL veteran playing with the Kansas City Chiefs, San Diego Chargers and the Tennessee Titans. Although he was a talented player, he emphasizes that his talent isn’t what got him to the NFL. His path to the NFL was difficult and unconventional, but that journey taught him many life lessons. Jackie shares his experience of growing up as an at risk youth to encourage younger generations that through hard work and perseverance their dreams can become reality. Today, Jackie and his wife are applying those same life lessons as owners of Philanthropy, a woman’s boutique where they strive to be an expression of Gods love through prayer, giving and fashion Rick Ngo

Howdy! I’m currently a junior at Texas A&M University and I’m studying Architecture. I’m a Texan by birth but have lived in Illinois, California, and New York. I’m pictured above on the far right along with my four brothers. I was blessed to grow up the youngest in my family of boys as I always had my older brothers to look up to and teach me how to live like a man of Christ. I’ve also been blessed to have a strong and faithful father, grandfathers, and uncles to show me the importance of the role of fatherhood in the family, church, and community. For the past two semesters, I have led a college men’s bible study in College Station, Texas, and hope to continue to lead men closer to God through Suit Up Ministries. As a current college student, I know there are many obstacles and distractions that can get in the way of growing closer to God, but I have found that the best way to overcome these feats is to surround yourself with fellow Christian men. Why Suit Up and be a Champion? The world is always in need of men who want to strive to live like Christ. God calls each man to a special role in the world and the best place to start making a difference is within the family. George Ajode
