“New Vision” DADS…as I have shared the prior three weeks, there are Six gifts that God has laid on my heart to share with “us” over what is now the next three weeks. (Go back and read weeks 1-3 to catch up). Six gifts that God gives to us all freely to receive unconditionally daily. In week 1 we talked about the gift of a “New Song” God gives us. Week 2 we shared God’s gift of a “New Self.” Last week we read about the “New Covenant.” This week 4 we learn about this “New Vision” God gives us in Acts! Acts 22:13-15 13 came to me, and standing by me said to me, ‘Brother Saul, receive your sight.’ And at that very hour I received my sight and saw him. 14 And he said, ‘The God of our fathers appointed you to know his will, to see the Righteous One and to hear a voice from his mouth; 15 for you will be a witness for him to everyone of what you have seen and heard. One of my all-time favorite Christian artists is Brandon Heath. Brandon wrote the song “Give Me Your Eyes” Meditate on these first two stanzas: Give me Your Eyes! Give me your eyes for just one second Give me your eyes so I can see, Everything that I keep missing, Give your love for humanity. Give me your arms for the broken-hearted The ones that are far beyond my reach. Give me Your heart for the ones forgotten. Give me Your eyes so I can see. What is it that you need to see differently today? Where do you need to use your New Vision? DADs is it time…To see your wife in a new light? For you to see your own children within your walls in a different light? For you to see yourself in a new way? The way God sees you? The precious child of God that you are! DADs a FOURTH gift God gives us Today and EVERY DAY is a “NEW VISION” God gives each of us His eyes… Which set of lens do YOU choose to look through? DADs...Today...You Have Been Remade!! “New Covenant”
DADS…as I shared beginning the prior two week’s, there are Six gifts that God has laid on my heart to share with “us” over what is now the next four weeks (Go back and read week one to catch up).
Six gifts that God gives to us all freely to receive unconditionally daily.
In week one we talked about the gift of a “New Song” God gives us.
Last week we shared God’s gift of a “New Self.”
Today we read in Matthew about the gift of our “New Covenant” in Christ!
27 Then he took a cup, and when he had given thanks, he gave
it to them, saying, “Drink from it, all of you.
28 This is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for
many for the forgiveness of sins.
29 I tell you, I will not drink from this fruit of the vine from now
on until that day when I drink it new with you in my Father’s kingdom.”
DADs…can you imagine what the disciples were thinking around that table that night, when Jesus was literally offering Himself and what was to come as a covenant for them and for all believing in Him?
What does that New Covenant mean to you?
A “covenant" can be defined as a contract, agreement, undertaking, commitment, guarantee, warrant, pledge, promise, bond, indenture;
This is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins,” you can replace the word “covenant” with any of those definitions listed above, but to be one of the “many”we as men and DADs must receive and open the gift.
DADs a THIRD gift God gives us Today and EVERY DAY is a “NEW COVENANT”
DADs, we all have the same opportunity to enter into this new “covenant” with Christ.
Let’s open this gift like a little boy on Christmas morning quickly opening his presents.
Then through Jesus Christ and His covenant with us, we can walk confidently daily remembering...
Today...You Have Been Remade!!
DADs…do not stand on the sidelines of life…get off the bench…“get in the game”…Today is game day…and so is every day…

“A New Self"
DADS…as I shared beginning in last week’s blog, there are Six gifts that God has laid on my heart to
share with “us” over what is now the next five weeks (Go back and read week one to catch up).
Six gifts that He gives to us all freely to receive unconditionally daily.
We read in Ephesians 4:22-24:
22 You were taught, with regard to your former way of life, to put off your old self,
which is being corrupted by its deceitful desires;
23 to be made new in the attitude of your minds;
24 and to put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness.
So what does it mean to "Put off the Old”?
School my brothers is now in session.
It is not private. It is very public and has open enrollment!
A good clue to the meaning of "the old self" is in Colossians 3:8–9:
8 But now put them all away...anger, wrath, malice, slander, and foul talk from your mouth.
9Do not lie to one another, seeing that you have put off the old person with its practices.
DADs…so putting off the "old self" is more than just setting aside and putting off old practices, because Colossians 3:9 says we put it off WITH it's practices.
We leave it…whatever it is…and all its parts…and things it creates.
So DADs How do we "Put on the New”?
Colossians 3:12: reveals the new person that we are supposed to "put on”... Paul says, "Put on then, as God's chosen ones, holy and loved, compassion, kindness, lowliness, meekness, and patience."
Is putting off the "old self" easier than putting on "new self”? DOES IT MEAN TO DISCARD IT ALL?
Do you put new shoes over old ones? If you can do that…I want to see! To enroll in the School of Christ, you have to do both!
DADs the SECOND gift God gives us Today and EVERY DAY is a “NEW SELF”
DADS…let’s receive this gift and Take off the old…put on the new!

Dads…there are Six gifts that God has laid on my heart to
share with “us” over the next six weeks.
Six gifts that He gives to us all freely to receive unconditionally daily.
I love music.
When I was a kid my grand parents belonged to a record club (Google “records” if you need a definition).
Every month…new arrivals came in the mail. You never knew from one genre to the next.
So needless to say I was exposed to a wide range of artist from:
Willie Nelson (On the road Again) to Gladys Knight and the pips (Midnight train to Georgia)
From Frank Sinatra (My Way) to the Doobie Brothers (Jesus is Just Alright)
from Barry Manilow (Looks Like We Made It) to Ted Nugent (Stranglehold)
Some of my earliest memories are from listening to albums from Johnny Cash live from
San Quintin and Folsom Prison (A boy named Sue)
to Andy Williams Variety show singing (Moon River).
Included in those albums (records) were many Bands…just as diverse!
Eagles; Lynrd Skynyrd; Bread; Back Street Boys, and even great marching bands!
One of my favorite tunes was a Skynrd song called "Call me the Breeze."
Still today I am always on the lookout for my favorite new song!
One of my favorite’s old hymns is called the
Hymn of promise #707 (Typically cannot sing all the way through)
Although I love the melody…its the words that say it all..
"In our end is our beginning; in our time, infinity;
In our doubt there is believing; in our life, eternity,
In our death, a resurrection; at the last, a victory,
Unrevealed until its season, something God alone can see."
In the book of Revelation 5:9 - We read about “A New Song”
9 And they sang a new song, saying:
“You are worthy to take the scroll
and to open its seals, because you were slain,
and with your blood you purchased
for God persons from every tribe and language
and people and nation.
DADS, a few thoughts on this New Song available to us all...
So DADs the first gift God gives us today and EVERY DAYis a “NEW SONG”
DADS…let’s receive this gift and sing this New Song Today! You Have Been Remade!!
